Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP in Rajya Sabha Priyanka Chaturvedi took a dig at members of the Eknath Shinde faction of Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, claiming that those who had been sworn in as ministers were yet to get a portfolio while the others were angry for not being made a minister.
In a tweet on Saturday, Priyanka Chaturvedi said, “The unconstitutional government in Maharashtra is collapsing under its own weight of contradictions and expectations. MLAs not sworn in as ministers are angry, those who took oath as ministers are still without portfolios. Maharashtra suffers. Rebel in haste, repent at leisure.”
Several MLAs from the Shiv Sena, including Eknath Shinde, had rebelled and formed a separate faction. The Shinde faction joined hands with the BJP to form the new govenrment in Maharashtra after Uddhav Thackeray resigned.
Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the chief minister and deputy chief minister last month.
Earlier this week, a Cabinet with nine Shiv Sena and BJP MLAs each was sworn in. However, they are yet to be allocated their portfolios.
