Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate three projects in Gujarat on Saturday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate three key projects in Gujarat via video conferencing on Saturday.

The projects include launching of the ‘Kisan Suryodaya Yojana’ for farmers, inauguration of the Paediatric Heart Hospital at the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre and a mobile application for telecardiology at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital.

Modi will also throw open the much-awaited Girnar ropeway.

Modis’ announcement for farmers

Under the ‘Kisan Suryodaya, Yojana’ farmers will get power supply during day time between 5 am to 9 pm. The scheme will cover farmers of Dahod, Patan, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Kheda, Tapi, Valsad, Anand and Gir-Somnath in the first phase and will cover the rest by 2022-23.

The state government has already set aside Rs3,500 crores to install the infrastructure to provide electricity during day time. The project is likely to be finished by 2023.

Over 234 66-Kilowatt transmission lines, with a total length of 3,490 circuit km will be established under the project, in addition to 220 KV substations, a statement from the PMO said.

The Paediatric Heart Hospital attached with the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre is part of the unit’s expansion for Rs470 crores.

With this, the number of beds at the hospital will increase from 450 to 1,251.

The Girnar ropeway will provide a fast way for pilgrims to reach atop the Girnar hill. Initially, the ropeway will have 25-30 cabins, with a capacity of eight people per cabin.

The ropeway will cover a distance of 2.3 km in 7.5 minutes. All the project will be inaugurated via video conferencing.
