  • Predicts impending rout for Congress in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections later this year

New Delhi: Master poll strategist Prashant Kishor does not have anything encouraging to say about the recently concluded Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir of Congress in Udaipur.

According to Prashant Kishor, the brainstorming programme “failed to achieve anything meaningful other than prolonging the status quo”.

He added that the chintan shivir had only given some time to the Congress leadership, “at least till the impending electoral rout in Gujarat and HP”.

His tweet came just days after the mega three-day programme by Congress in Udaipur in Rajasthan from May 13-15. It came just months after a massive defeat for the party in all five states, including in Punjab where it lost power.

The senior leaders also discussed the strategy ahead with eyes on the upcoming Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections later this year as well as the General Elections in 2024.

Prashant Kishor had been offered a role in the party’s Empowered Action Group 2024, which he had declined.
