Popular Builders: Daughter-in-law Fizu accuses own father of threatening to kill her

Daughter-in-law of Popular Builders’ Raman Patel has accused her father Mukesh Patel of threatening to kill her. She has filed a complaint with the Vejalpur police station and said her father Mukesh Patel threatened her in a text message.

Fizu who lives in Deep Towers in Bodakdev has filed a complaint against her father Mukesh Patel who lives in Hatkeshwar society in Darpan crossroads.

Fizu in her complaint said that on January 10, 2020, her in-laws (of Popular Builders) began taunting her and her mother for not bringing enough dowry. The family had gathered to celebrate the birthday of Fizu’s and Maunang’s daughter.

The case against Popular Builders

Soon the taunt turned abusive and when Fizu objected, her husband Maunang of Popular Builders slapped her several times and also punched her in the nose. She later filed a complaint against her in-laws including her father Mukesh Patel then.

Her father got an anticipatory bail after the complaint was filed while her husband Maunang also got bail from Gujarat high court in the case. Since Fizu and her mother feared for their lives, they made a representation to the cops who then provided them with protection.

On January 20, 2021, her father Mukesh Patel who could not visit his wife and daughter due to the police protection sent her a text message at 6 am which went “I am gonna kill you tomorrow.” Fizu, who got scared after the message approached JCP Sector 1 Rajendra Asari and later filed a complaint against her father with Vejalpur police station for threatening his daughter.

Mukesh Patel had divorced Fizu’s mother Janki 25 years ago. Fizu and her mother live separately from Mukesh Patel and she told the cops that her father holds a grudge against them.
