Political campaign finds its way into nail art in Rajkot


Supporters of Congress, BJP, and other political parties are looking at unique ways to show their backing for their respective political parties and ideologies during the upcoming civic body polls. In Rajkot, many supporters have taken to nail art to show their backing for a particular party.

Many women are getting the symbols of the party they support as nail art to show their support. Nail art involves drawing symbols of the party like the hand, the lotus, or the broom on nails.

Some are also using the slogan campaigns of the party as nail art. In fact pictures of nail art have also gained much popularity on social media.

Other efforts by political parties

Earlier in Ahmedabad BJP candidates had during the campaign wore wearing ‘kamalchaap’ masks (those with BJP’s symbol – Lotus) to woo voters amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Four candidates of BJP from Gota ward along with ex-mayor Bijal Patel were out for their ‘lok sampark’ round in the locality when they wore the mask with BJP symbols.

The local body elections in Gujarat will be held in two phases. In the first phase on February 21, elections will be held for 6 municipal corporations. including Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. The results for the elections will be declared on February 23.

In the second phase on February 28, elections will be organized for municipalities, district panchayats, and taluka panchayats. The results for the second phase will be declared on March 2.
