Telangana BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar was arrested on Tuesday night from his residence in Karimnagar. The saffron party leader has been arrested ahead Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state on April, 8. According to the reports police reached late night at his residence in Karimnagar and detained him.

Situation worsened for tense while BJP leaders, supporters and party workers tried to stop police during arrest of Sanjay Kumar. Following the incident police took him away in a van. The BJP state president was shifted to Bommala Ramaram police station in Nalgonda district of Telangana.

BJP state general secretary Premender Reddy announced that the party is planning to stage a statewide protest against the ‘illegal’ arrest of Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Reacting to Bandi’s arrest, BJP leader Amit Malviya alleged that his party colleague was arrested by the KCR government on fabricated charges.” In a midnight operation, This won’t end well for KCR,” Malviya tweeted.
