Ahmedabad: PM Narendra Modi was scheduled to visit Gujarat on 17th April. But his proposed visit has been cancelled now. He was supposed to inaugurate the Tamil Sangam at Gir Somnath. According to the latest information PM Modi’s visit has been cancelled keeping in the view his meeting with foreign delegation and forthcoming Karnataka assembly elections. Saurashtra Tamil Sangam has been announced and its logo, theme song and registration portal were unveiled on 19 March in Chennai. Within 24 hours of the launch of the portal, more than 10,000 people gave a good response to this Sangam by making their registration.

According to the information available, there is no change in the scheduled Tamil Sangam program on 17th April. PM Modi will not remain present in the program. Now it is likely that in his place Defence Minister Rajnath Singh may attend the program. The main object of the program was to honour the people who have left Saurashtra and settled in Tamilnadu state. With this cultural program it was planned for cultural exchange between two states.
Besides, BJP has begun preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Under such situation, many preparations were done for Gujarat visit of PM Modi. His visit was considered to be important in the terms of planning for the Lok Sabha elections. But now he is not going to participate in it. But, it is likely that the schedule for PM Modi’s Gujarat visit will be finalized again very soon.
