Besides, Union Minister Amit Shah said that a historical tradition will be revived on this occasion. There is a tradition behind this associated for ages. It is called Sengol in Tamil and means rich in wealth and historical. On 14 August 1947, a unique incident happened. After 75 years, today most of the citizens of the country are not aware of this. Sengol played an important role in our history. This Sengol became a symbol of the transfer of power. When PM Modi got information about this, a thorough investigation was done. Then it was decided to put it before the country. For the same, the day of the inauguration of the new Parliament House has been chosen.
Addressing the press conference, Home Minister Amit Shah further said that there can be no other suitable and holy place than the Parliament House for the establishment of Sengol, so on the day of the dedication of new Parliament House to country, PM Narendra Modi will accept Sengol from Adhinam and install it near the seat of Lok Sabha Speaker.
