PM Modi said that this election in Karnataka is not only to form the government for 5 years, it is an election to make Karnataka the number one state in the country. This is the election which will decide the important role of Karnataka for a developed India and India will be only developed when every corner of Karnataka will be developed. To make Karnataka the number one state in the country, it is very important to have a double engine government in the state. None will be able to stop Karnataka from being number one while the BJP government at the center and the BJP government in the state will have dual power.
Besides, PM Modi addressed people and said that foreign investment in Karnataka is one example about the benefit of double engine government. Due to BJP government, there has been a record increase in foreign investment in the country. During the Congress government, inflow of foreign investment in Karnataka was for Rs.30,000 crore annually. Now under the BJP government, there is inflow of foreign investment for about Rs. 90,000 crores in Karnataka every year. During Congress rule there were more than 100 irrigation schemes which were pending for decades. In the last 9 years, we have completed more than 60 irrigation schemes that were incomplete for decades.
Lambasting at the Congress, PM Modi said that the Congress has never understood the plight of the poor and Congress is the party that even politicize development and Congress is full of negativity. Till Congress was in power in Karnataka, it delayed the construction of houses for the poor population. The BJP government stopped this tyranny of Congress against the poor and accelerated the pace of building houses. During this election too, Congress has started abusing me again. So far I have been abused 91 times by Congress people. If Congress had worked so hard for good governance, Congress would not be in such a predicament today.
