PM Modi added that in the Amrit Kaal of independence, we are witnessing a new tradition of cultural events like Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam. A few months ago, Kashi Tamil Sangamam was organized in Banaras, which became the point of discussion across the country. Today, once again on the land of Saurashtra, we are witnessing the confluence of two ancient streams of India. The event of Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam is not only a confluence of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, it is also a celebration of the worship of a Shakti in the form of Goddess Meenakshi and Goddess Parvati.
Addressing the closing ceremony, PM Modi further said that India is a country living diversity as its specialty. We are a people who celebrate diversity. We celebrate different languages and dialects, arts and genres. There is diversity everywhere, from our faith to spirituality. India has the power to do something new even in the most difficult situations, the shared history of Saurashtra and Tamil Nadu provides us this assurance… We have to emphasize coordination, not cultural clash. We don’t have to take the struggle forward, we have to take forward the Sangam and Samagam. We don’t have to find differences, we have to create emotional connections.
