Rajasthan: RAS officer Pinky Meena charged for corruption secures bail to get married


A Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) officer, Pinky Meena, who is behind bars in connection with a corruption case, has secured bail to get married to a judicial service officer, Narendra Meena.

Pinky, who was working as a sub-divisional magistrate, was nabbed by the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) last month along with another officer for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a construction company. The couple is tying the knot today.

Pinky was recently granted bail by Rajasthan High Court. An IPS officer Manish Agarwal was also arrested on similar charges of taking bribe from the same company as the superintendent of police of Dausa district.

The court considered her request for bail to enable her to get married. However, she will have to report back to the jail on February 21, thus spending about five days with her husband in her new home. Her fiancé Narendra Meena, during the period between her arrest and judicial custody, has been helping her with the judicial process, but from behind the scene.

Pinky Meena has sent her marriage card to numerous officials and politicians. This marriage card carries a message of social awareness. She has appealed through the wedding card to come and attend the wedding wearing masks and keep a distance of two meters from each other during the wedding.

Pinky Meena belongs to rural background

Both Pinky and fiancé Narendra are from a rural background and are basically agriculturists, belonging to the Meena community, but enjoyed reservation in jobs as they fall under the category of Scheduled Tribes.

Pinky Meena has also made an appeal to the invitees to take only as much food in their plates which they could eat and ensure that the food does not get wasted. A large number of community people and also politicians belonging to the Meena community are likely to attend the wedding.
