New Delhi: The prices of fuel increased in the country on Tuesday. While the price of petrol increased by 19 to 25 paise, that of diesel saw a hike between 24 to 27 paise.

In Ahmedabad, petrol now costs Rs 98.75 per litre. Bhavnagar is the only district in Gujarat where the fuel costs more than Rs 100 (Rs 100.70 per litre)

The rise comes amid a three-year high in international oil prices. Ironically, prices in India did not see any major drop earlier despite lower international rates.

The price of petrol was last increased on July 17, according to state-run oil companies. It is now priced at RS 107.47 per litre in Mumbai after an increase of 21 paise, while diesel will cost Rs 97.21 following a rise of 27 paise.

In Delhi, petrol got costlier by 20 paise to reach Rs 101.39. Diesel reached Rs 89.57 with a rise of 25 paise.
