Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been continuously protesting against the CAA-NRC. She warned the BJP of not to “Play with fire” and threatened the saffron party of continuous movement till the new citizenship law is revoked. “Do not fear anbody,” Banerjee told the students.
Speaking at a protest rally in the city, the Trinamool Congress supremo accused the BJP of not keeping its promises, and criticized the statement of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on stopping compensation to the families of two people killed in police firing in a protest against CAA in Mangaluru.
Banerjee asked the students to continue the protest. The Chief Minister told that she will always be by their side. Not only this, while warning the BJP, they did not play with fire.
Banerjee, who was leading the protest march from Rajabazar to Mullick Bazar in central Kolkata, alleged that the BJP was scaring the students speaking against the CAA.
