New Delhi: The Parliament has been in a state of chaos since the start of the monsoon session last Monday. This week, the scene was no different. However, two Bills were passed without discussion without discussion amid the protests and the sloganeering by the Opposition leaders.
The Bills that were passed are the Factoring Regulation (Amendment) Bill 2021 and the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management Bill 2021. After the passage of the Bills, the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day.
Minutes earlier, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 4 pm amid the pandemonium.
Earlier, both Houses of the Parliament were adjourned thrice during the day.
‘No proposal for uniform fuel prices across India’
Oil minister Hardeep Singh Puri said in the Lok Sabhi that the highest sales tax or VAT on petrol in the country was levied by Madhya Pradesh, while Rajasthan had the highest tax on diesel.
He said that the government was not considering any proposal to have uniform prices for the two fuels across the country.
According to him, their prices vary from market to market because of factors like freight charges, VAT and local levies.
