Ahmedabad: Once again record cases of Covid-19 are being reported in the country. Union government is in action mode now. Union Health Ministry constantly appeals the states to stay prepared to tackle the situation. Meanwhile, there is no stock of paracetamol syrup in Ahmedabad Civil hospital since last one and a half months. Paracetamol syrup is considered to be most essential medicine in the treatment of children.
The demand for paracetamol syrup has been increased since one and a half months in the pediatric department for children, it is said to bring paracetamol syrup for children suffering from cold, cough and viral infections. But this syrup is not available in the hospital.
Paracetamol is a basic drug, used in all types of viral infections. As its not available in the hospital, in most cases it has to be purchased from outside medical stores. However, hospital administration has denied it. But contrary to the claim by the hospital, patients are forced to buy paracetamol syrup from outside for past several days.
Mock drills on 10-11 April
Union health minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya held a review meeting with the health ministers of all the states and union territories regarding Covid-19 situation. Mandaviya expressed concern over rising cases of Covid-19 in the country. He appealed all health ministers to hold a review meeting, in view of the current situation of Covid -19 in their states, regarding health facilities and infrastructure. On April 10 and 11, there will be a mock drill over Covid -19 across the country, where all health ministers will visit the hospital.
