AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi had openly opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act in the House and expressed his anger by tearing down the copy of this law. Owaisi on Wednesday met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and discussed the issues pertaining to NPR, CAA and NRC.

After the meeting was over, Owaisi said it was positive and NPR is the first step towards the NRC. “They are preparing NPR as per the Citizenship Act,1955. Then isn’t it connected to the NRC? Why is the Home Minister misleading the country.”

The Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad was here with a Muslim delegation from Union Muslim Action Committee (UMAC), met the Chief Minister at Pragahati Bhavan here and submitted a detailed memorandum, elaborating their objections to the NPR. Owaisi said there is no difference between NPR and NRC. The Union Home Minister is misleading the country.

Owaisi said that the Prime Minister had said that no Detention Camp has been set up, while a Detention Camp has also been detected in Karnataka and had also being built in Assam. He said that we were not expecting this from you, Prime Minister of India.
