Tokyo Olympics: Big win for Indian men’s hockey team against Spain

Tokyo: The Indian men’s hockey team registered its second win at Tokyo Olympics Games on Tuesday.

The win against World number 9 Spain in the third Pool A match came as a morale booster for the team that had lost its second match 1-7 against Australia.

Rupinder Pal Singh scored a brace, while Simranjeet Singh added one more, taking India’s score to a comfortable 3-1.

 

Women’s team loses to Germany

On Monday, the Indian women’s hockey team lost 0-2 to World number 3 Germany. The rival team’s defense ensured that the Indians could not send the ball to the goal.

The Indian team will play its third Pool A match against Great Britain on Wednesday.

Losses in Air Rifle Mixed Team shooting

On Tuesday, India’s shooting teams of Elavenil Valarivan and Divyansh Panwar and Anjum Moudgil and Deepak Kumar failed to qualify for the 10m Air Rifle mixed team shooting Stage 2. Before them, the teams of Saurabh Chaudhary and Manu Bhaker crashed out in Stage 2 qualification and Yeshahswini Deswal and Abhishek Verma were out in Stage 1 qualification round.
