NRI helps woman thrown out of her house by in-laws during lockdown

Hitesh Chavda, Nadiad: A senior citizen thrown out of her home was finally able to go back to her house thanks to the intervention of a Non Resident Indian (NRI) and the Kheda police. The old woman was noticed by an NRI while walking from Lambel village in Anand district during the lockdown. The woman was on her way to her daughter’s place by foot.

The 70 year old woman identified as Raiben had been thrown out of her house by her daughter-in-law. Since she did not have any other place to go, she decided to head to her daughter’s place close to Bayad by foot. She had managed to reach upto Nadidad where unable to go further she sat down for rest. An NRI who was passing by saw her and inquired about her condition. He then got in touch with the DySP GS Shyan. Cops soon rushed to the spot and helped ferry the senior citizen back to her home.

Gujarat Exclusive also appealed to the cops on her behalf to ensure that she was not harassed by her in-laws again. Cops have promised that they will ensure that she is not mistreated.
