LJP chief Chirag Paswan, who has launched a series of attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the ongoing Bihar election campaign, on Sunday, launched a fresh salvo against him. Chirag Paswan, while addressing an election rally in Dumraon in Bihar’s Buxar, said Nitish Kumar will be behind bars if LJP comes to power in the state.
Referring to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s 2015 poll plank where he made seven commitments to the people of Bihar, Chirag Paswan asked, “What should we do about those who have done corruption in saat nischay? Sent to jail? Sure?”
He went on to add, “Chirag Paswan promises to you today. I have written this in my manifesto that in saat nischay, whatever corruption has been done. Whether by any official or the chief minister, a probe will be launched once LJP’s government comes into power and those [found guilty] will be sent to jail.”
People have developed hatred against Nitish Kumar
LJP national president Chirag Paswan’s remarks come on the same day as RJD leader and mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav told reporters that the people of Bihar have now developed “hatred” towards Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Chirag also alleged that the illicit liquor is being widely sold in Bihar despite the ban and that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is “receiving kickbacks”.
“That chief minister who is corrupt, anti-youth, destroys Bihar, forces youth to go away from Bihar. Should such a chief minister stay chief minister? Such a chief minister should be changed or not?” Chirag Paswan asked during his speech, while making sweeping remarks against the Bihar CM.
Chirag Paswan has already clarified that LJP will not fight the election against BJP in Bihar, but will contest the seats from where JD(U) candidates are in the fray. He has also claimed that after the poll results, LJP and BJP will form the government in Bihar.
