Patna: Day after severing ties with BJP and submitting his resignation as Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar returned to the office, this time leading a ‘Grand Alliance’ with Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) and other parties including Congress, CPI, CPIML and others.
He took oath as the eighth CM of Bihar, while RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was sworn in as Deputy CM.
Burnt twice, BJP has called Nitish Kumar a “betrayer” and has announced protests on Wednesday across the state.
BJP MP in Rajya and former Bihar DyCM Sushil Modi remarked that Nitish would be just the titular head, while Tejashwi Yadav would be the de-facto CM. “RJD has a strength of 80, you have 45-46. Everyone knows how Lalu Yadav works. Nitish Kumar will be CM just for show and real CM will be Tejashwi Yadav,” ANI quoted Modi as saying.
