Patna: Bihar Chief Minister and JD9U) leader Nitish Kumar may hand over his resignation to Governor Phagu Chauhan on Tuesday. According to reports, he has sought the Governor’s appointment between 12.30 pm and 1 pm. The JD(U)-BJP alliance is currently in power in Bihar.
Nitish Kumar has been giving indications of a split with the BJP and intentions to join the Grand Alliance. While his party supported the NDA candidates in Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections, he did not attend the polls.
Congress has said it will support Nitish if he leaves BJP.
Meanwhile, parallel meetings were held in Patna on Tuesday, with JD(U) MLAs and MPs meeting at Nitish Kumar’s house, Tejashwi Yadav and RJD leaders at Rabri Devi’s house and BJP at DyCM Tarkishor Prasad’s house.
