Gandhinagar: Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be visiting the GIFT City in Gandhinagar on Saturday. She will lead a team of seven secretaries from the ministries of Finance and Corporate Affairs.
The delegation will discuss matters of development and growth of International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) at GIFT City, the first one of its kind in India.
Ministers of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary and Dr Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad, too, will participate in the discussions.
The focus of the discussions will be on role of GIFT-IFSC as gateway to global financial services for Indian corporates in India, attracting global financial businesses to India and growth of Fintech global hub.
Nirmala Sitharaman will also visit key infrastructure facilities at GIFT City and later interact with stakeholders with presence at IFSC.
The discussions are aimed at bringing together a confluence of ideas and strategies for faster development of GIFT-IFSC.
