New Delhi: All attempts to avoid the hanging of Vinay Sharma, convicted in the Nirbhaya case are failing. The Supreme Court has dismissed convict Vinay’s plea challenging the rejection of his mercy petition by the president. The court said that according to the medical report, Vinay’s mental condition is absolutely fine.
The Supreme Court clearly stated that his medical report suggests he is stable. All material including Vinay Sharma medical report was placed before the president who applied his mind in rejection of mercy plea, The SC said.
A bench of Justices R Bhanumati, Ashok Bhushan and A S Bopanna rejected the plea of the convict Vinay and said that we have considered after seeing all the files. Therefore, the plea of convict Vinay is rejected that President Ramnath Kovind did not see all his documents. Also, the argument is being rejected that the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi did not sign the file.
