Night curfew in 17 more cities in Gujarat as Covid-19 cases rise


Gandhinagar: With Covid-19 cases increasing in several cities, the state government has decided to impose night curfew in 17 more cities in addition to the current list of 8 municipal corporations and two cities.

Till now, the night curfew from 10 pm to 6 am was in place in the municipal corporation areas of Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar and Gandhinagar as well as Anand and Nadiad.

On Friday, the state government issued a fresh notification in which Surendranagar, Dhrangadhra, Morbi, Vankaner, Godhra, Vijalpore in Navsari, Navsari city, Dhoraji, Vyara, Vapi, Valsad, Bharuch, Ankleshwar, Kalol in Gandhinagar, Gondal, Jetpur in Rajkot and Kalawad in Jamnagar have been added to the list of cities with night curfew.

Most of the other guidelines remain the same as the previous notification.

Shops and businesses will be allowed to remain open till 10 pm.

Not more than 150 people, or 50 per cent of the venue capacity (whichever is lower) will be allowed at any kind of gathering, including weddings

The decisions were taken at review meeting of the core committee on Friday.


Hotels, restaurants allowed to offer home delivery 24×7

Hotels and restaurants will be allowed to offer dine-in facility till 10 pm. However, they may have home delivery 24×7.
