Mumbai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided 20 locations linked to associates of gangster Dawood Ibrahim in Mumbai and Thane.
The raids were carried out at locations including Borivali, Parel, Santacruz, Kurla, Nagpada, Bhendi Bazaar, Mazagaon, Mahim, Goregaon, Mumbra and others.
These premises belong to hawala operators, gangsters, sharpshooters as well as a trustee of a prominent dargah, according to reports.
These raids are part of the NIA probe into a case against Dawood and his D-company under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
The case had been registered in February.
According to a report, gangster Chhota Shakeel’s associate Salim Qureshi was detained by NIA from his residence in Bhendi Bazaar.
