New Delhi: Congress leader Natasha Sharma apologised to Gujarat and its people for her “disrespectful” comments.

In a tweet, she asked if anyone from Gujarat had won a medal in Commonwealth Games or they just got gold medals in fleeing after looting banks.

Objecting strongly to the comment, Gujarat Home minister Harsh Sanghavi rebuked her for insulting the 61 medalists at the CWG this time. He added that people from Gujarat had won five medals.

Apologising for her comment, Natasha Sharma said she regretted it.

“Gujarat is the land of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel, of non-violence and love…” she tweeted.
