Panaji: Bollywood actress Nafisa Ali joined the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress in Goa on Friday. Along with her, Mrinalini Deshprabhu, too, joined the party.
They are the latest to join the party in recent times.
Recently, BJP MP and former singer Babul Supriyo and MLA Krishna Kalyani joined TMC in West Bengal.
Nafisa Ali, who is also a social activist, joined the party in presence of Banerjee and Derek O’Brien.
“We are elated to share that Nafisa Ali and Mrinalini Deshprabhu have joined the Goa Trinamool Congress family today in the presence of party Chairperson Mamata Banerjee,” the All India Trinamool Congress tweeted.
Nafisa Ali was earlier associated with the Congress.

Mamata Banerjee is in Goa on a three-day tour of Goa amid the party’s efforts to make inroads in the coastal state. She arrived on Thursday evening and is scheduled to take part in a series of events.
On Friday, she is expected to meet community leaders, while on Saturday she is scheduled to hold a press conference besides visiting the Basilica of Born Jesus in Old Goa and Bodgeshwar Temple in Mapusa. On Saturday, she is likely to meet fruit and flower vendors in Mapusa.
Goa is among the states that will see Assembly elections in 2022.
