Murder: Son beats father to death over property dispute

A son killed his 65-year-old father to get his hands on his parent’s property. The incident happened at Parijat Flats in Shilaj Road near Ambli when the youth killed his father by assaulting him with a stick.

Sejal Rabari, 21, who originally belongs to Sojitra village in Patan has filed a case with the Sarkhej police station accusing her brother of killing their father.

As per case details, Sejal lives with her father and brother and works at the Zebar School as a maid. Her father is a security guard at the same school.

How the murder happened

Two days ago, her brother Suresh had a fight with his father over a property dispute. He wanted her father to sell their land, property and their mother’s jewellery and give him his share.

Her father Maganbhai had refused the demand and a fight ensued but Sejal had managed to intervene and cool down both of them.

On Friday at 9 am, Sejal and her father were on their way home after their night shift at the school. They went to sleep at noon. She woke up at around 2.30 and found that her brother was hitting her father with a stick.

Sejal shouted for help and the neighbours Babarbbhai Rabari and Badvantbhai Thakor ran to her help. They got hold of Suresh and snatched the stick from his hands.

He, however, managed to escape. The family rushed Maganbhai to Sola Civil Hospital where he succumbed during treatment.

A murder case was registered against Suresh, 23 and he was arrested by the Sarkhej Police in a few hours. Police have also recovered the weapon used in the murder.
