An accused released on bail from Central Jail in Vadodara paraded himself in an Audi car flanked by supporters on two wheelers making a mockery of both the law enforcement and the social distancing norms amid the pandemic in the city.
The Crime Branch soon swung into action and nabbed the man who has several criminal records. The authorities have also seized the Audi car used in the rally. The man, Suraj Kahar is accused of murdering a youth Deval Jadav over a fight over overtaking on February 23 this year. The incident had happened at the Waghodia Road near the Kaladarshan crossroads in the city
Kahar and six others were accused of beating the youth to death and were arrested in this connection. They were later sent to jail. On June 4, Kahar and others were released on bail following which his supporters came in an Audi car to get him home and they took out a rally for the same.
On reaching his home near Varasiya people felicitated him by carrying him on their shoulders. The matter came to light after a video of the celebrations and the rally went viral. The crime branch has arrested Kahar and others for violating the lockdown norms.
