New Delhi: Union Ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and RCP Singh resigned from the Cabinet on Wednesday.
Naqvi had the portfolio of minority affairs while Singh was the steel minister.
Their resignation comes a day ahead of the end of their term as Rajya Sabha MPs on Thursday. They handed over the resignation to PM Narendra Modi.
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was the last Muslim BJP MP among the party’s 395 members in the Parliament.
Meanwhile, there are reports that he may be named the vice-presidential candidate by BJP, the elections for which will be held in August.
The party earlier nominated Droupadi Murmu as its presidential candidate.
