MS Dhoni captaining CSK since 2008
Since IPL started in 2008, MS Dhoni has been captaining the Chennai-franchise and has been an ever-present character in the history of the tournament.
During CSK’s two-year ban period over the match-fixing controversy, the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman represented Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in the 2016 and 2017 season.
So far, ‘Mahi’ has scored 4,568 runs in the tournament, out of which 3,994 runs are for CSK. The former team India skipper has also successfully guided his Chennai side to three IPL title wins in 2010, 2011 and in 2018.

CSK struggling in IPL 2020
However, CSK have struggled to find their old form during the IPL 2020 after key players in Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh opted out due to “personal reasons”.
