The Taj Express was on way from New Delhi to Jhansi
New Delhi: Fire broke out in a bogie of Taj Express at Asaoti railway station of Haryana en route to Jhansi from New Delhi on Saturday morning.
The fire was minor and was doused. All passengers were said to be safe.
A fire brigade official said the Taj Express was stopped at Asaoti after smoke was seen rising from a bogie at around 7.40 am. It was an AC coach.
According to an official spokesperson, the fire was caused by a brake jam.
Deepak Kumar, CPRO of Northern Railways said, “The fire was extinguished, all passengers are safe. It was a minor fire. More smoke than fire actually.”
