One more corporator from the city has tested positive for Covid19. Maninagar ward corporator Ramesh Patel and his mother have tested positive for the disease. He has been admitted to a hospital for treatment. Earlier, his wife had been detected with the disease and was under treatment at the SVP hospital in the city.
Patel had been actively involved in providing herbal drinks to the resident and ensuring complete sanitisation of the area since the pandemic began. Earlier Jamalpur MLA Imran Khedawala had also tested positive while former leader of opposition in the AMC Badruddin Sheikh died of the disease. AMC commissioner Vijay Nehra had to quarantine himself after coming in contact with two positive cases. His test results recently came negative.
Ahmedabad, one of the worst affected districts due to coronavirus have recorded over 280 cases and 20 deaths in the last 24 hours. Of the over 7,000 cases being recorded in the state 80% are from Ahmedabad alone. The city is under a strict lockdown to prevent further spread of the disease.
