A technical glitch on an automaker’s website led to a man ‘accidentally’ ordering 28 Tesla cars worth 1.4 million Euros. The man in Germany with the online name ‘Ballon-Man’ ended up purchasing 28 Tesla Model 3 vehicles. He claimed on a Reddit forum that he wanted to buy just one Model 3 with autopilot but ended up with 27 more. As per reports by a news agency the problem happened due to a glitch on Tesla’s website where after clicking ‘submit,’ the website responded that the order could not be placed because of a payment issue even though the payment details were correct.
The buyer kept on clicking the confirm button and the error continued. But in the end it confirmed the purchase of 28 cars and the bill came to 1.4 million Euros. Each of the orders had a minimum no-refund fee of 100 Euros. The company acknowledged the issue and cancelled the entire order without any charge. The man was asked to place a new order, agency reports said.
