- The body was found at Singhu border on Friday morning
New Delhi: The body of a man, said to be around 35 years of age, was found hanging near the farmers’ protest site at Singhu border outside Delhi on Friday morning.
The left hand of the victim had been chopped off from the wrist and the body was left hanging at the barricade near the main stage of protest.
DSP Hansraj was quoted by ANI as having said, “At about 5 am today (Friday), a body was found hanging with hands, legs chopped at the spot where farmers’ protest is underway (Kundli, Sonipat).”
An FIR has been registered against unknown persons. There are allegations of Nihang Sikhs being involved in the ghastly murder.
SKM leader Balbir Singh Rajewal was quoted as having said that Nihangs were behind the incident and that they have accepted it. “They have been creating trouble for us since the start,” he said.
The SKM has distanced itself from the incident.
Meanwhile, the angry farmers initially did not allow the police near the site. However, the cops were later allowed to take the body to the civil hospital.
