The Congress registered a thumping victory in the Karnataka assembly elections. Due to the win a new enthusiasm has arisen among the party workers across the country. Meanwhile, according to the information coming to the fore the party is preparing for a major reshuffle in Gujarat in the near future. Congress may hand over the command of the party to a Patidar face by curtailing the names of stalwarts. The high command is likely to carry out the reshuffle process in Gujarat.
A Patidar leader from Saurashtra can be selected for the post of state president in place of Jagdish Thakor. Besides, other names are also being discussed, the high command can announce the name of the new president soon after brainstorming on the matter. In the Gujarat assembly elections, the Congress had won only 17 seats, due to which even the high command got panicked. Since then, the possibility of major changes in the party is being expressed.

Besides, the name of Rajya Sabha MP and senior Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil is also in discussion. Also the names of Deepak Babaria, Lalji Desai and Dr. Jitu Patel are being discussed. But looking to the Patidar factor, the high command may approve the name of Paresh Dhanani.
