In Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP has got 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, NCP 54 and Congress 44 seats. The BJP and Shiv Sena together crossed the 145 mark of majority. But Shiv Sena put a demand for 50-50 formula according to which the model of running the government was two and a half years. Shiv Sena says that the agreement with BJP was done on this formula, but BJP claims that no such agreement was reached. This led to differences so much that the two-year-old friendship of the two parties was broken. After this, Shiv Sena formed government with NCP and Congress after major dramatic events.
