The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall at some places in Gujarat in the next 48 hours. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is likely to occur in Kutch, Banaskantha, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Morbi, Patan, Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Sabarkantha today. Along with rain, wind is likely to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph. Meanwhile, as per the forecast, there has been a change in the atmosphere of Patan. Rain has started in Patan suddenly with wind.

Meanwhile, in the last 36 hours in the state, many areas including North Gujarat received light to moderate rain. Three persons have been killed in lightning strikes in Botad and Chhota Udepur districts. A 6-year-old girl died due to lightning in Dhufnia village of Gahda taluk of Botad. While in Sankheda taluk of Chhota Udepur district, two youths were killed by lightning. Meanwhile, 16 goats and 12 sheep were struck by lightning in Modsar village of Kutch district, 28 animals died tragically.
Becharaji of Mehsana recorded the highest, 70 mm rain. Besides, Ahmedabad city Danta, Vadgam and Chansma taluks recorded 50 mm, Dholka, Jotana, Kalol and Wadali 40 mm, Kadi, Nadiad, Petlad and Palanpur 30 mm, while Matar, Patan, Sagbara, Dantiwada, Umareth, Sojitra, Bhiloda, Mehsana, Tarapur, Idar and Anand talukas received 20 mm of rain. Besides, there are reports of 10 mm rain in 12 taluks.
Four taluks of Rajkot district recorded 10 to 23 mm rain yesterday. Light to moderate rain was also reported in 6 taluks of Bhavnagar district. Sihor and Vallabhipur received rain with gusty winds.
