Lady officers to take charge of CM’s security, police stations, train operation on Women’s Day in Kerala

The International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8. On this occasion, the management of the police stations in Kerala will be entrusted with the responsibility of running the train to the women personnel. DGP Loknath Behera of Kerala on Saturday directed all district police chiefs to handover duty of station house officers (SHO) to women police personnel on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which will be celebrated worldwide on March 8.

The Kerala Police Chief said in a directive that if there is no female SHO, senior civil police officers will be on duty in police stations. At the same time, women commandos will have duty in Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijay’s vehicle scort on Women’s Day. Apart from this, women police guards will be assigned to Cliff House, the official residence of CM in North Block.

Kerala Women and Child Development Minister KK Selja said, “The Venad Express, which leaves Ernakulam at 10.15 am on March 8, will be run by women. Loco pilot, assistant loco pilot, pointsmen, gatekeeper and track woman are all women. Women will also manage the ticket booking office, information centre, signal, carriage and wagon. Women officers will be in charge of security Railway Protection Force.”

The state minister said that this will be the great pride for the state that women will take the charge of Venad Express. This will be first time on the occasion of International Women’s Day , trains will be run by women. All the work from gatekeeper to the loco pilot will be run by the women. Even at the ticket booking counter, inquiry center, there will be women.
