A day after the Aam Aadmi Party won a resounding majority in the Delhi Assembly elections, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal today to stake claim to form the government. Sources said the two discussed the oath-taking ceremony which could take place over the weekend. Kejriwal’s party won 62 out of 70 seats in 2020 Delhi Assembly elections to be held on February 8.
After winning Delhi Assembly elections by defeating all the opposition parties, intense thinking has started within the Aam Aadmi Party about the nature of the cabinet. Everyone’s eyes are fixed on the Delhi cabinet. New faces can also be seen in the cabinet this time. The party won 62 seats in the 70-member assembly, while the BJP had to settle for only 8 seats.
All the outgoing ministers have won the assembly elections. At the same time, new and senior faces like Atishi Marlena, Raghav Chadha and Dilip Pandey have also won the election. These three leaders are said to be very close to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Last year, these three leaders had to face defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. These three leaders are also responsible for the post of spokesperson. However, a party official said, the nature of the cabinet will be decided by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after consulting the party leaders.
