A video of a Karnataka resident who took just 9.55 seconds to run a distance of 100 metres has viral on the social media. The man timing was faster than the International athlete Usain Bolt, who currently holds the world record in the 100 metre race at 9.58 seconds. 28-year-old Srinivasa Gowda of Karnataka broke the 30-year-old record of the International athlete Usain Bolt. He ran 142.50 meters in 13.62 seconds at a ‘Kambala’ or buffalo race in a slushy paddy field. He has become the fastest runner in the traditional sport of Karnataka by running in such a short time. On the other hand, his talent has also been appreciated by Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.

Twitter users are claiming that a youth named Srinivasa completed 142.50 meters in 13.62 seconds. This means that he completed 100 meters in just and 9.55 seconds. Srinivasa hails from Moodabidri area of Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. According to the claim of Twitter user, Srinivasa ran 142.5 meters in just 13.62 seconds at a “Kambala” or Buffalo race in a slushy paddy field. 100 meters in JUST 9.55 seconds! When sports minister Kiren Rijiju was asked by news agency ANI about Srinivasa, he said, “I will call Srinivasa Gowda for trials by top SAI Coaches. There’s a lack of knowledge in masses about standards of Olympics, especially in athletics where ultimate human strength and endurance are surpassed. I’ll ensure that no talents in India are left out untested,”
