The BJP has announced the first list of candidates for the Karnataka assembly election yesterday night. But with announcement of the candidates, the reports of differences in the party have risen. In the new list, party has not given ticket to 10 people including present ministers while introducing 52 new faces to contest election. BJP Central Leadership, after a marathon discussion for three days, announced names of 189 candidates out of 224 assembly seats.

Meanwhile, there are reports that BJP MLA and former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has been instructed to not contest assembly election from Delhi. The development has paved way for youth. 67 years Shettar today threatened to contest election as an independent candidate. Before his meeting with BJP National President J P Nadda, Shettar said he will reach Delhi by 3 pm and after taking appointment he will meet J P Nadda. I am a positive person and I believe positive developments will take place.
After refusing a ticket Shettar said that his popularity is better according to the survey. He has not lost a single election. Hence, I have appealed party high command to give me an opportunity to contest the election.
Along with Jagadish Shettar, former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi has also not got the ticket. It is believed that the central leadership of the BJP is clearly under pressure from Ramesh Jarkiholi, who played a key role in breaking the JDS-Congress alliance in 2019 and the BJP returned to power. Another former Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa also informed the central leadership, even before refusal of the ticket, that he is not going to contest on Shivamogga seat.
