Congress has released its manifesto for the Karnataka assembly elections. The manifesto claimed that Bajrang Dal will be banned on formation of their government. Bajrang Dal workers staged protests near the Congress headquarters in Delhi and Mangaluru in Karnataka. Demonstrators demanded that the Congress should withdraw its promise. Besides, the workers burnt copies of the Congress manifesto and raised slogans against party leader Rahul Gandhi.

Congress, in its election manifesto released on Tuesday, said that if it comes to the power in the state, it will ban organizations like Bajrang Dal and PFI. Manifesto promises that Congress party is committed to take strong and decisive action against individuals and organizations that spread hatred between communities on the basis of caste or religion. We believe that the law and the constitution are sacred. Organizations like Bajrang Dal and PFI promoting enmity or hatred between majority or minority communities and others will be banned.
In fact, Bajrang Dal is the youth wing of the RSS-affiliated Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). VHP leaders, protesting in Delhi, said Bajrang Dal is the “pride of the country” and would launch a massive nationwide agitation if the Congress did not withdraw the promise and change the Karnataka election manifesto.
