In Karnataka, BJP has won a spectacular victory in Fifteen assembly constituencies by-elections. According to the information received 12 BJP MLAs have been successful. The BS Yediyurappa-led government needed six seats to remain in power in the state. In the Karnataka assembly with 208 members, the BJP currently has 105.
In such a case, the BJP has surpassed the majority figure after the success of the 11 rebel MLAs. After winning, BS Yediyurappa expressed happiness and said that all those who have achieved success will be included in the Cabinet.

Earlier, HD Kumaraswamy’s government collapsed in July when 17 MLAs of the Congress-JDS alliance resigned. The Karnataka assembly speaker later disqualified him from the assembly. After this whole case had reached to the SC.In the assembly with the current strength of 208 after the disqualifications, the BJP has 105 MLAs (including an independent), the Congress 66 and the JD(S) has 34 MLAs.
The 15 seats that were contested, 12 were held by the Congress and three were by the JD (S). 13 MLAs who have been disqualified have been nominated by the BJP as their candidate. They had joined the BJP last month after getting permission from the Supreme Court to contest the by-elections.
