Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi‘ is all set to release in Japan on 3 January 2020. With the release of the film in Japan, Kangana is going to create a new record in cinema. Kangana is the first Bollywood actress to have her film release in Japan. Directed by Ranaut and Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, the film traces the story of 22-year old warrior queen Rani Laxmibai, who refused to surrender Jhansi to the British rulers. She fought a fierce battle, and is remembered as the first woman in history to begin the war for Indian Independence.

The story of the film Manikarnika is written by Vijayendra Prasad, the writer of the film Bahubali. Prasoon Joshi has written the film’s dialogue. The story of the film is about Lakshmibai, who fought against the British after the uprising in 1857, who was martyred for his country.

After the film was released, Kangana Ranaut’s performance was praised. With that, Kangana also faced many controversies for the film. The film was accused of tampering with history.
