In a development that is nothing short of a Bollywood potboiler, actor Kangana Ranaut on Wednesday arrived in Mumbai with Y-plus security cover. While Kangana Ranaut was boarding her flight for Mumbai, BMC’s machinery was busy in bringing down alleged illegal alterations in the actor’s office.

However, by the time she landed in Mumbai, she already had scored above the ruling Shiv Sena, with the Bombay High Court staying BMC’s demolition drive at her office.

Kangana has blamed the Maharashtra government of targeting her because of her fight with Shiv Sena. Notably, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is also controlled by Shiv Sena.

Meanwhile, NCP chief Sharad Pawar criticised BMC’s action. He said the demolition drive had given the actor unnecessary publicity.

Stay from HC

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday stayed the demolition process initiated by the BMC for illegal construction at actor Kangana Ranaut’s office in Mumbai. It sought to know why the civic administration entered the property when the owner was not present.

Justice SJ Kathawalla was hearing a petition filed by Ranaut challenging the notice issued by the BMC for illegal construction at her bungalow. Kangana has also sought a stay on the demolition process.

The court sought to know from BMC how it entered the premises. The bench directed it to file an affidavit in response to the plea. Further hearing in the matter is scheduled on September 10.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday undertook demolition of the illegal alterations at the Bandra bungalow of Ranaut.

BMC’s claim

BMC officials claimed that 24-hour was provided to the actor to respond to the notice issued for illegal alterations and constructions in the property. However, the actor did not respond to the notice. Therefore, the action was taken, officials said.

Kangana launches attack on Maharashtra govt

Intensifying her fight with the Maharashtra government, the actor tweeted: “As I am all set for Mumbai Darshan on my way to the airport, Maha government and their goons are at my property all set to illegally break it down, go on! I promised to give blood for Maharashtra pride this is nothing take everything but my spirit will only rise higher and higher.”

The actress also termed the government machinery and men who were there to demolish her property as “Babur and his army”. She also posted several videos of how her property was damaged by the civic authorities. She also launched an attack on Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and said his ego will be demolished one day just like her house has been demolished.
