BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and his mother Madhavi Raje Scindia have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been admitted to a private hospital in Delhi. They are under treatment at the Max Super Speciality hospital in Saket after they complained of throat irritation and fever, symptoms of COVID-19, media reports said. Scindia, a former leader of the Congress, and several of his supporters had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March this year as a result of which the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh had collapsed.
Earlier Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had gone into quarantine on Sunday after he complained of mild fever and throat infection. He was tested for COVID-19 and his results are still awaited. Other political leaders who tested positive for COVID-19 include BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra who was admitted to Medanta Hospital. He was successfully treated and discharged later.
