The new Porbandar SP, Ravi Mohan Saini, who was earlier posted as the Rajkot Zone -1 Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) also happens to be a former Kaun Banega Crorepati winner who aced the quiz show and pocketed a cool Rs1 crore at the age of just 14 years, local media reports said.
Saini had won the quiz contest in 2001 after he managed to answer all the 15 questions successfully in the Junior KBC show.
The 33-year-old, who originally belongs to Alwar in Rajasthan, had cleared his UPSC exam in 2014 and had chosen to be a Gujarat Cadre officer. The son of an Indian Navy official, Saini did his MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Medical College in Jaipur while he finished his schooling from the Naval Public School in Visakhapatnam, the reports said. Immediately after taking charge as SP Porbandar, Saini said that his primary focus was to ensure that the lockdown was effectively followed as the state battles COVID-19.
