BCCI secretary Jay Shah’s team won the match against BCCI President Sourav Ganguly in the friendly match held at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. The match came on the eve of the 89th Annual General Meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The AGM is scheduled to be held on December 24.
The Motera Stadium, the largest cricket stadium in the world, has a seating capacity of over 110,000 is expected to host matches next year when England visits India.
This was the first such match to be held at the stadium so far.
Former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin, who is the head of Hyderabad Cricket Association, was part of Jay Shah’s team,
Batsmen Brijesh Patel and ex-Saurashtra skipper Jaydev Shah also participated in the tennis ball practice match.
The BCCI AGM will discuss several important issues, including England’s tour to India, the inclusion of two more teams in the Indian Premier League, and the resumption of domestic cricket among others.
