Jamshedpur, a city in Jharkhand, once again witnessed communal violence on Sunday. Incidents of stone pelting and arson took place during the clash. Both groups raised religious slogans. Receiving the information about violence police rushed to the spot. Subsequently, the area was transformed into a police camp till late night. On Monday morning the situation in the area is under control. In view of the situation internet services have been shut down in Jamshedpur. Security forces have been deployed and section 144 has been clamped in the riot affected area.

Two groups got involved in stone pelting after alleged desecration of a religious flag in Shastri Nagar of Jamshedpur. Six people were injured in stone pelting incident while the violent mob set ablaze two shops and an auto rickshaw. After the incident angry mob started arson. Due to flare up of violence curfew has been imposed in the area on Sunday evening. According to Jamshedpur SSP Prabhat Kumar, more than 50 people have been detained. He added.” Continuous monitoring is being done through CCTV and police is taking all necessary steps.”
SSP Prabhat Kumar added that Police administration and RAF conducted a flag march in Kadma police station area of Jamshedpur. security forces held a flag march. Whoever is responsible for the violence, will be detained. Last night both groups raised some slogans and later on stone pelting and arson took place. Police resorted to tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. Police force has been deployed in the area since the incident. A small shop, like a hut, was burnt. We are investigating. Every aspect is being looked into. In view of the situation, decisions to restore internet service and remove section 144 will be taken according to the situation.
